Hi Folks: I used the free keyman for years, and now am on Windows 7, so I am trialing the Desktop Light, which I'll purchase if it runs smoothly.

The program installed fine, but after a reboot, hotkeys will not activate or turn off Keyman. If I turn it on manually with the mouse, I still cannot type my foreign-language characters. It no longer works in Firefox, MS Word, Wordpad, etc. The MS Word is not a 64 bit version, but is the same version of Word 2003 I used Keyman on for years (though of course installed on my new 64 bit machine).

Many thanks for any suggestions!

Can you confirm if you are using the latest build of Keyman 7.1 -- 7.1.269.0? Also you may like to try the 8.0 beta which has full x64 support -- http://tavultesoft.com/beta/

Hi folks: I have just upgraded to the most recent version, and the issue has returned. Same description as above. Could you let me know if you have any ideas?

I just installed 8.0, and that appears to solve the issue. However, my installation key does not work. Do I have to purchase the program again?

Just adding some more info, in case this helps:

1. I uninstalled all keyman applications.
2. I installed desktop 8.0
3. Then, I installed 7.1 in addition to 8.0
4. My 7.1 now works (hotkeys work, and keyboards function fine)

That's unfortunately not a supported configuration -- effectively you are mixing Keyman Desktop 7.1 and 8.0 components and I would not expect it to be problem free.

If version 8.0 works for you I'd suggest going that way. If you already have a version 7.1 license, please drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll figure something out.
